K.D. Lang Was Born On November 2, 1961

K.D. Lang was born Kathryn Dawn Lang on November 2nd of 1961 in Canada.

Lang is known professionally as a country music singer-songwriter. She is also known for some aspects of her personal life as she is an animal rights vegetarian and a lesbian (she "came out" in 1992.)

Her most commercially successful album to date in the US and the UK has been 1992's Ingenue which charted at #18 in the US and #3 in the UK. It also charted #13 in her home country of Canada, #3 in Australia, and #1 in New Zealand.

She's probably best known for 1992 song "Constant Craving" which was written by Lang and Ben Mink and included on the aforementioned album Ingenue. The song won Lang a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1993.

The Rolling Stones' 1997 single "Anybody Seen My Baby" was musically similar to "Constant Craving." Once the Stones realized this similarity they willingly (without a court battle) added Lang and Mink as co-authors of the song.
