Damon Albarn was born on March 23rd of 1968 in London, England. He is a singer-songwriter who is well known as the lead singer for Blur & Gorillaz.

Blur was formed in 1989 and they went on to be one of the most successful bands of the ’90s in the UK although they had limited success in the US. They’ve had five #1 albums in the UK: 1994′s Parklife, 1995′s The Great Escape, 1997′s Blur, 1999′s 13, and 2003′s Think Tank.

Gorillaz is a “virtual band” that was created in 1998. They’ve released two albums so far: 2001′s Gorillaz and 2005′s Demon Days. They have both had success all around the world with Demon Days charting higher and selling more than the debut.

Albarn performs as the singing voice for the Gorillaz character “2D.”
