Don’t Worry Modest Mouse I’m Still a Fan

When I first heard Modest Mouse had a new album, an EP albeit, I was on the verge of ecstasy. They stand as my favorite band for their albums Good News for People Who Love Bad News and We Were Dead Before the Ship even sank.

So with that being said maybe my expectations were set a little high for No One’s First, and You’re Next. Upon listening through a few times I just could not find anything from this selection that filled the hole in my soul (and I have a pretty big hole to fill with 50,000 songs to fill my ipod).  Most of the songs were devoid of the energy that made the prior two albums great.

The one song that did stick out would be “King Rat” as it was the only one that deserves to be on a studio album.  So basically unless your a hardcore fan don’t bother with it.  I will note however I was a little less disappointed when I found out these were songs that didn’t make it on to the two previous albums.

Tracks to enter Mr Clatters Ipod: “King Rat.”

  1. I much prefer the older Modest Mouse stuff (’90s)
