Fun With Microsoft’s Songsmith
By TheRoboticMushroom on Jan 19, 2009 in Features
Microsoft has a program out now called Songsmith that creates music to go along with whatever vocal you sing into it. Some folks have had some fun with this by playing the vocal tracks of well known songs into the program to see what kind of music it would create for those songs. Check these out:
“Wonderwall” - Oasis
“Roxanne” - The Police
“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” - Oasis
“Intergalactic” - Beastie Boys
“Creep” - Radiohead
“I Heard It Through The Grapevine” - Marvin Gaye
“Dead Wrong” - Notorious BIG
In order to attain a full appreciation for Songsmith you should probably watch this Microsoft commercial for it too:
Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Notorious BIG, The Police, SongsmithBecome A MusicByDay.com Music Blogger.

This has to be among the most insane things ever. I’m not sure which one is my favorite. In some ways “Creep” gives me the most creeps… ?
