Glenn Frey was born on November 6th of 1948 in Detroit, Michigan.
Frey is best known for his time with the American country pop rock band the Eagles who Frey helped to form in 1971. Frey wrote or co-wrote (usually with Don Henley) many of the Eagles songs. Frey sang lead on many of the Eagles biggest hits including “Take It Easy,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Already Gone,” & “Heartache Tonight.”
The Eagles are either “The Greatest American Rock Band” (Is this really the best we can do?) or the definitive mediocre lite FM easy listening band. Whether you consider them the former or the latter depends largely on whether or not you enjoy listening to Love Songs with Delilah.
They released their first new studio album since the ’70s in 2007. It’s called Long Road Out of Eden. For the first year of it’s release, the album is only available at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores in America and Canada due to an exclusivity contract the Eagles signed with Wal-Mart.
Frey is also known for his solo ’80s hits “The Heat Is On” (from Beverly Hills Cop) and “You Belong to the City” (from the Miami Vice soundtrack.) Both of these songs hit #2 on the US charts.
