Hamer Velocity 2 Bass Guitar
By BrainFace on Sep 15, 2009 in Gear Reviews
I’m not an expert on bass guitars so you can take my review with a grain of salt but I’m sure that of one thing at least, my new Hamer Velocity 2 bass is a big step up from my old Squire P-Bass.
It was recommended to me as the best bass guitar in it’s price range (just under $500.) And while I haven’t played every other bass in this price range, I did play quite a few and the Hamer Velocity 2 did have the best playability and the best tone of all of them in my opinion.
It has an activated pickups (with a nine volt battery in the body) which apparently helps it in getting a great tone and yes, it seems to work. Like I said, I’m not an expert on bass guitars - I can only tell you how it sounds and feels to me.
In my uneducated opinion - this is a great bass for the money. In fact it sounds so good to me, I don’t see any reason I’ll ever have to upgrade as long as I keep it in good condition.

Hey BrainFace! Great job getting us an entry that’s not about The Beatles. That’s a rare thing these days.

Thanks Anthony - Yes - I’m going to finish that series up. I’ve been pretty distracted lately by the whole box sets thing…and my new bass! But I will get to it for sure.
