Adam Ant Was Born On November 3, 1954

Adam Ant was born as Stuart Leslie Goddard on November 3rd of 1954 in England.

He is most well known for his 1982 hit "Goody Two Shoes" which reached #1 in the UK, #1 in Australia, and #12 in the US. In the UK he is also known for his career with his band Adam & the Ants.

Adam and the Ants released a studio album in 1979, 1980, and in 1981 with 1980's Kings of the Wild Frontier being the most successful. It charted at #1 in the UK and #44 in the US.

Adam and the Ants had two #1 UK singles in 1981; "Stand and Deliver" and "Prince Charming." Adam and the Ants never had a single chart in the US.

Stevie Ray Vaughan Was Born On October 3, 1954

Legendary guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan was born on October 3rd of 1954 in Dallas, Texas.

Vaughan had five studio albums to his credit at the time of his death (including one with his brother Jimmie Vaughan as "The Vaughan Brothers.") They were 1983's Texas Flood, 1984's Couldn't Stand the Weather, 1985's Soul to Soul, 1989's In Step and 1990's Family Style (with his brother Jimmie Vaughan.)

He died in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990 at the age of 35.

"Pride and Joy" from his debut album Texas Flood may be his most famous song. Watch a live performance of this song below:

Elvis Presley released his first single "That's All Right Mama" on July 19, 1954

On July 19th the first Elvis Presley single "That's All Right Mama" was released through Sun Records. The single was backed with "Blue Moon of Kentucky."

Possibly the very first video of Elvis Presley (from 1955) is seen below. The music accompanying the video (which has no sound itself) is "That's All Right Mama"

"Rock Around The Clock" is recorded on April 12, 1954

Bill Haley & His Comets recorded the seminal rock n roll song "Rock Around The Clock" on April 12th of 1954.

Although it was released as a single in 1954, it was not until 1955 that the song became a #1 hit. The song was used during the opening credits of the movie Blackboard Jungle which seems to have spurred it's popularity.
