Slade Went To #1 On The UK Album Charts On October 6, 1973

Slade went to #1 on the UK album charts on October 3rd of 1973 with Sladest. The album stayed at #1 for 3 weeks. This was a compilation album by the British glam rock band.

The compilation album included five UK #1 singles including their best known hit "Cum on Feel the Noize" which is more well known in the US for the cover by Quiet Riot from 1983. Oasis also covered this song and included it as a b-side to their 1996 single "Don't Look Back in Anger."

Although they never had great commercial success in the US they were an influence on many US bands including Kiss, and the Ramones.

Scott Stapp was born on August 8, 1973

Scott Stapp was born 34 years ago on August 8th of 1973. Stapp became famous in the late 1990s and early 2000s as the lead singer for the band Creed.

Although Creed was a huge commercial success during this period, they were and are despised by music critics and all people with any semblance of taste.

Among the stupid things closely associated with Creed were WWE and Christian Rock.

Stapp has become more well known for his acts of public stupidity than his mind numbing music in recent years. An example of this is his drunken appearance on a celebrity poker TV show in 2006.

Enjoy:

I recommend not downloading Creed onto your iPod.
