The Pet Shop Boys Hit #1 On The UK Album Charts On October 9, 1993

Very, the 5th album by UK electronic band Pet Shop Boys, hit #1 on the UK album charts on the 9th of October in 1993. Very stayed at #1 for one week.

Very has sold over 4 million copies world wide. Among the album's accolades was being ranked #91 by Q magazine in it's list of the 100 greatest British albums in 2000. It has received a 4.5 star review in the All Music Guide and a 4 star review from Rolling Stone.

Very included 5 top 20 singles in the UK with the biggest hit being "Go West" which reached #2.

Nirvana Hit #1 On The UK Album Charts On September 25, 1993

Nirvana had their first #1 UK album with In Utero on September 25th of 1993. Although their previous album Nevermind was a big worldwide hit, it only reached #7 on the UK charts.

In Utero was Nirvana's 3rd and final studio album as lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist Kurt Cobain would commit suicide in 1994.

"Heart Shaped Box," "All Apologies," & "Rape Me" are probably the most well known songs from the album.

Michael Jackson Interview On The Oprah Winfrey Show February 10, 1993

14 years ago today Michael Jackson gave his first televised interview in 14 years (since 1979) on the Oprah Winfrey show.

Here's a clip of the interview which took place at his Neverland Ranch in California. In this clip MJ showcases his beatboxing skills.
