Four Students At Kent University Were Killed On May 4, 1970

Four students at Kent University in Ohio were killed by national guardsmen on May 4th of 1970. The students were protesting the war in Vietnam.

What does this tragic event have to do with music? This senseless killing of innocent war protesters was the inspiration for the Neil Young written song "Ohio" which was quickly recorded and released by Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. Neil Young sang lead vocals on the track. The lyrics were very direct in their condemnation of the events of May 4th, 1970.
