Monsters of Folk – “Dear God” Video

“Dear God” is probably my favorite song from the Monsters of Folk self titled debut album.
It’s got this “70s soul” style chorus with some lovely harmonies that really kick my beans in. The verses are pretty cool too and M. Ward, Conor Oberst, and Yim Yames each take a turn singing a verse (very “supergroup.)
Anyway, you don’t have to take my word for it, you can hear it for yourself while watching the new “Dear God” music video the group has put up on YouTube.
And as you can see from this December 14, 2009 post I’ve been loving this tune for quite some time.

Hey, just wanted to comment on something you said a while ago. You said that illegals do jobs Americans don’t want to do? What a MORON u are. Do you know how many people are jobless out there wiling to do ANYTHING to make ends meet to feed their families. Do you know that they have monopolized the market by only speaking spanish and its very hard to get into the construction/landscaping type businesses because they have MADE it hard to impossible to gain access. Who is the one being descriminated against????? Open your FREAKING EYES! and smell the roses. and just to let you know, Your shit does stink!

Hey Morgan – I’m going to leave it up as it amuses me… I’m easily amused by the comments I get here…
And we’ll just have to disagree about “Dear God” – I’m a big fan of the song… I’m not so much of a fan of “ole country gospel.” I hear a lot of that kind of stuff where I live and… it’s not my cup of tea to say the least

i don’t see how anyone can not like the track. “Dear God” to me is a very good song, i like it. I guess it’s just all about personel taste.
