Mos Def is going to appear on the Gorillaz 2010 album which has the planned title of Plastic Beach (I don’t think this title is official yet, so it may be changed.)

According to this interview with Mos Def, he will be appearing on 7 of the tracks on the upcoming album as “Sun Moon Stars” which makes him a sort of “5th Gorilla” kind of like the role of “Del tha Funkee Homosapien” on the first album.

Lou Reed, Barry Gibbs, & Snoop Dogg also make appearances on the album which Gorillaz originator Damon Albarn has described as “the most pop record I’ve ever made.”

This will be the group’s 3rd album following 2001′s Gorillaz and 2005′s Demon Days.
