Most played song (week ending May 3, 2009) on last.fm for each of Radiohead’s 7 studio albums to date:

1993 – Pablo Honey – “Creep”

No surprise that “Creep” is the most played song from Pablo Honey, but I’m a little disappointed it’s the 2nd most played Radiohead song overall. Nostalgia?

1995 – The Bends – “Fake Plastic Trees”

Barely beating out “High & Dry.” Great songs, yes. But what about “Just” and “My Iron Lung”? (They are 3rd and 4th among songs from The Bends.) And in case you are curious: “Street Spirit” & “The Bends” are 5th & 6th.

1997 – OK Computer – “Karma Police”

Also the #1 Radiohead song overall. Definitely a great song but it’s never been among my very favorite Radiohead songs. I prefer #2 among OKC tracks “Paranoid Android.” “No Surprises,” “Airbag,” “Lucky,” “Let Down,” & “Exit Music” are next. Actually I’m pretty sure I dig all of those songs more than “Karma Police” too. Not that it’s not a great song, it’s just a bit overplayed in comparison and really the entirety of OK Computer is just that damn good.

2000 – Kid A – “Idioteque”

There’s lots of great songs on Kid A but I do think this one most perfectly embodies what’s great about the album.

2001 – Amnesiac – “Pyramid Song”

I think this is a very underrated album. It doesn’t have that “flow” that OK Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows has but I think in many ways it’s just as rewarding if you can get into it.

2003 – Hail to the Thief – “There There”

Hail to the Thief is the one Radiohead album (post Pablo Honey) that I sometimes have a hard time getting excited about. It’s still got a lot of great moments, don’t get me wrong. But it’s too long and it doesn’t feel/sound adventurous enough to me (by most band’s standards it would be quite adventurous of course.)

2007 – In Rainbows – “All I Need”

This isn’t a big surprise to me and it’s among my favorites too. But you can’t really go wrong with In Rainbows.
