Radiohead On Conan O’Brien Last Night

Radiohead appeared on Conan O’Brien’s show last night but they recorded the clip in London rather then on location in NYC. Thom Yorke explains the environmental reasons at the beginning of the clip (”every time you fly to New York, it’s the equivalent to driving your car for a whole year.”) Yorke also takes a stab at George W. Bush not signing the Kyoto agreement although he doesn’t mention him by name as he can’t seem to remember it.

  1. Because I’m cynical - what’s the enviromental impact of all the electrical production that went into that?

Don’t get me wrong - I love me some Radiohead, have ever since the beginning…

  2. I don’t really know. It seems like it would depend greatly on how the electricity was being generated? But I don’t think electrical plants in general create that much pollution, at least not in comparison to air travel. But I don’t know… I love Radiohead and I even like the earth a little bit. But I don’t think I’m going to stop flying or driving a car. I don’t think that’s a solution. Trying to make it so the vehicles create less pollution seems like a more viable solution.

  3. Thanks for dropping by my blog.

As role models (at least for some), showing that they care about the environment is definitely a good thing.
