By Marvin Marks on Apr 8, 2009 in Music News
The Beatles albums have finally being remastered and they will be released for sale on CD on September 9th, that’s 9/9/9 of course. That is also the same date that The Beatles: Rock Band game is coming out.
Each of the CDs will include a short documentary (in QuickTime format) about that particular album that will be able to viewed on your computer. This embedded documentary feature will be included only for a limited period.
There will be a stereo boxed set which includes stereo versions of every originally released Beatles song: That is the original 12 albums along with Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters Vol. 1 & 2 (which will now be combined as one title.) That boxed set will also include a DVD which includes all of the album documentaries.
There will also be a mono boxed set which includes all of the Beatles recordings that were originally released as mono mixes. This set will include 10 albums along with 2 additional discs of mono masters (a lot of the same songs that are included in the Past Masters collection.) This collection will also include the original stereo mixes for Help! and Rubber Soul which have never been released on CD before.
It’s also mentioned in this press release that there’s no deal on digital distribution yet in place but that discussions will continue.
