Taylor Hanson Was Born On March 14, 1983

Jordan Taylor Hanson was born on March 14th of 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is best known as being the middle brother of the three brothers that make up the pop-rock band Hanson. He is the lead vocalist & keyboardist of the group.

The brothers started the band up in 1992 when Taylor was just 9 years old. His older brother Isaac (Hanson’s lead guitarist) was 12.

They self released two albums (1995′s Boomerang and 1996′s MMMBop) before their first proper studio album was released in May of 1997. It was titled Middle of Nowhere and it was a huge commercial success as it featured the hit single “MMMBop.” It hit #2 on the US album charts and #1 on the UK album charts. It has gone on to be certified 4X Platinum by the RIAA (that means over 4 million units shipped in the US.)

They follow that up in November of ’97 with a successful Christmas album titled Snowed In which hit #7 in the US and has been certified Platinum.

Hanson has released three more studio albums since then: 2000′s This Time Around, 2004′s Underneath, and 2007′s The Walk. They have charted at #19, #25, and #56 in the US respectively. This Time Around did manage to be certified Gold (500,000 copies shipped) by the RIAA but overall the band has not been able to reach the high level of commercial success they had with their first album.

Taylor Hanson is also the lead singer for a newly formed “supergroup” called Tinted Windows. The other members of the band are guitarist James Iha (The Smashing Pumpkins & A Perfect Circle), bassist Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne & Ivy) and drummer Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick.)

Their self titled debut album is set for release on April 21st of this year. Their debut single “Kind of Girl” was released on February 24th.
