The Beatles Mono Box Set Sold Out?
By Marvin Marks on Aug 13, 2009 in Music News
I thought they were probably bluffing when they said The Beatles Mono Box Set was going to be a limited edition run of only 10,000 copies (only 10,000 copies!?! This is THE BEATLES!) But when visiting the Amazon.com page for the mono box set today I found that they are sold out and they have this message up:
“The Beatles Mono Box Set is a limited production item, and we are sold out, but we have the Beatles Stereo Box Set available for pre-order. Visit our Beatles Store to shop the Beatles remastered CDs, The Beatles: Rock Band, DVDs, books, and so much more.”
Ah, well. I’m glad I already pre-ordered it. But I’m sure there are many Beatles fans who want this box set and who haven’t ordered it yet so I went looking around to see if anyone else had it in stock and I was able to find it still available (as of now) at a site called COLLECTOR’S CHOICE MUSIC.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that the Stereo Box Set has been marked down in price again and is now down to just $180, which is really a pretty nice price considering it contains 16 discs.

I find it very hard to believe that EMI spent the last few years and God knows how much money remastering the mono albums just to sell 10,000 copies of them !!!
