The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set: #1 Bestseller On Amazon.com
By Marvin Marks on Aug 20, 2009 in Features
Today I noticed that The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set has jumped up to #1 on Amazon.com’s list of bestselling music. This is most amazing when considering that they are selling The Beatles box set for $180 in comparison to the $10 people are paying for the garbage below it (Whitney Houston, George Straight, & Daughtry … Seriously?…)
This box set has been selling well since it was made available for pre-order. I’ve seen it as high as #11 before, but it’s clear that sales are really jumping now. Why? Is it because the Beatles Mono Box Set sold out which is scaring people into ordering the stereo box set sooner rather than latter? Or maybe it’s just because 9/9/9 is getting closer (that’s the day the new remastered Beatles CDs are released, and The Beatles Rock Band is also out that day.)
BTW: It’s 40 years to the day since The Beatles were last in the studio together.
EDIT: As of right now (8/27/09) The Beatles Stereo Box Set has sold out on Amazon. As an alternative you can try to buy it on a website called Collectors Choice Music.

It’s nice to see The Beatles selling … but then you look at the rest of that list and it makes me weep. George freaking Straight? Chris AMERICAN IDOL Daughtry? Are you kidding me? What is wrong with people?
