UPDATE:

3/16/10 has come and gone without any news of remastered vinyl LPs. As soon as I hear any news (hopefully it’s still happening!) on the subject I’ll be updating here.

The latest rumor (and it’s just a rumor at this point, no official statement on this has been released by The Beatles) is that the new Beatles remasters will be released in a remastered Beatles vinyl box set on March 16th of 2010. The LPs will probably also be released for individual purchase as well as in a box set.

While the release date of March 16 is just a rumor, the fact that The Beatles new remasters are being put on vinyl is not. Earlier this year Jeff Jones (CEO of Apple Corps) said that they were working on them and that they will come out but that they did not yet have a release date set because they wanted to make sure they got it right rather than rushing out a product to meet a release date.

I’ll be updating this space when more info on the vinyl remasters becomes available.
