The Beatles topped the week’s Last.FM charts with 124 thousand listeners and 2.6 million plays. The Beatles were at #2 last week (and #3 the week before that.) Of course this big jump in plays (almost twice as many as last week) is due to the release of the newly remastered stereo CDs (see The Beatles Stereo Box Set) and the original mono mixes on CD for the first time (see The Beatles Mono Box Set.)

Muse also jumped up with some huge numbers (116K listeners & 1.9M plays) as their 5th studio album The Resistance was released today in the UK (and it leaked online early last week.)

Radiohead (who have been at #1 most of the time since In Rainbows), Coldplay, Kings of Leon, The Killers, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, & Arctic Monkeys round out the top ten most listened to bands/artists for the week.
