The Five Artists Who’ve Sold More Than A Half Billion Records
By Marvin Marks on May 6, 2008 in Music Trivia
According to this Wikipedia page there are five artists who have sold over a half billion records.
They are The Beatles, Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, & Michael Jackson.
One thing that I find interesting to note is that except for The Beatles who were only recording music for about 8 years (’62 to ‘70) the others on the list all had very long recording careers. For example, Michael Jackson is working on a new album this year and recorded his first music in 1967 as a member of the Jackson 5. That’s over 40 years of recording.
How about a little sampling of each half billion selling artist?
