According to this Billboard story. Apparently the album “might” be called Embryonic.

I wasn’t really expecting the Flaming Lips to release an album this year, much less a double album. Although I was (and am) somewhat disappointed by At War With The Mystics, I’m still pretty excited to hear what they come up with for this one, especially since it sounds like they’re trying to do something new and different.

Double albums rarely work, but when they do they are brilliant. For example my favorite Beatles album is The White Album and I’m pretty sure my favorite Dylan album is Blonde on Blonde (although I’ve never really settled on a favorite Dylan album, it’s hard to choose.)

I’m hoping they don’t go for the overly compressed, plastic sort of sound like they did with At War With The Mystics. I’m not saying I want them to “go back to their roots.” To me the Lips are all about looking forward. But… Yeah. Their last album could have been a lot better if it had been produced more like The Soft Bulletin.
