Yer Best Bet with the NOTORIOUS BIG

I understand that this blog primarily caters to Hipster/Indie/Retro vibes, but I got to bring your ass back to the source of some good motherfucking music, motherfuckers. I am talking about my main man Biggie Smalls, what the fuck? I am going to focus on the hottest tracks from his two proper studio albums, “Ready to Die” and “Life after Death”. If you don’t know, now you know, bitches!

Talking about “Ready to Die”, how could one possibly top “Things Done Changed” other than Biggie himself? This is just one cherry topping on the best ice cream sundae of Rap albums ever, you punk ass honkies! Moving on, motherfucker; I got to represent the shit out of “Gimme the Loot”. Nobody can fuck with this jam, it doesn’t get harder than this shit, player! Biggie is a primetime lyricist for the ages and this is the track that church elders once referred to as “Tha Shit”.

I’m not done representing “Ready to Die” yet, you assholes! This is just the next fucking paragraph up in this motherfucker! Another classic smooth Biggie jam would have to be “Warning”. I can’t even remember how many times I shook my sweet bottom to this epic track; just seek this song out somewhere on the Internet or I’ll bust you with my gat. Finishing off proper, I just got to go with the title track “Ready to Die”; on this particular song the late great Notorious BIG wants to see cabbage.

1997 was a bogus year, but the music Biggie left us on “Life after Death” is some incredibly smooth shit, so you cracker-ass hoes better represent! How can you bitch-ass crackers possibly fuck with “Hypnotize”? Biggie was just getting started; if only he had lived…it’s a real shame (for real, yo!). Other than the obvious hit single aforementioned like a motherfucker, “Life after Death” offers up epic mafia-style stories like “Niggas Bleed”. We are talking about a sprawling double-album, motherfuckers! Seek this shit out! Hey; it’s all gravy, baby…

  1. Ha! I like that you’re keeping it real Mozart.

(1997 is one of my favorite years for music, ever – BTW)

  2. Thinking about the music world in general in 1997, I must agree. It was rather creatively fertile for more than a few bands. I quite like Stereolab’s “Dots & Loops” from ’97. Ween’s “The Mollusk” comes to mind…

When Biggie’s “Ready to Die” was released in 1994, that too was another impressive year in the world of Pop Music.

  3. We agree. And it isn’t just Biggie’s rhymes and intonation, but also the musical presentation and background.
